What the Judges Want:
What would you do If you were told you had only 72 hours to live?” Let's face it. It's not an easy question to answer. Or is it?
What really matters in your life? Who do you need to forgive? Who should you apologize to? What wrongs do you have to put right? Is there a long lost friend you need to find? Will your family be taken care of ? And are you at peace with how you lead your life? Keep these in mind as you prepare to SUBMIT your story.
To win over the judges, you must:
-
Be unique. Let your personality shine. Only you can stand out as you!
-
Be sincere. Be positive. Nothing illegal, hurtful or degrading. If you win, you may actually be on TV trying to accomplish what you've written.
-
Tell the events of your own life. Do not write about someone else or copy from a work of fiction.
-
Keep it real. What could you do right now if given 3 days to achieve it? No using superpowers or winning the lottery (unless you actually have won).
-
Get personal. Be specific. We should be able to imagine your 3-day experience like it were happening right in front of our eyes.
-
Be meaningful. Will bungee jumping down the Grand Canyon really bring you and your relatives lasting peace? If so, tell us how.
As you describe what you would do, tell us::
-
Why these specific actions? What in your past or present makes them so important?
-
Why these people? What makes them special to you?
-
How would doing these things bring you and your loved ones a sense of peace?
Assuming you were to live beyond those 72 hours, consider:
-
How would doing each of these things change your life for the better? For good?
-
How would they help you to appreciate your life more fully?
-
How could the things you do uplift and benefit others?
